“We set the goal to solve problems of providing housing for veterans by the end of year”, - head of republic said to journalists.

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov currently in Tatarstan 7800 veterans need housing improvement. “We thank country’s leadership – we have already received funds in the amount of 5 bln. 200 mln. roubles for the main part of flats. Besides, we have 500 mln. roubles left. – We have to choose flats properly, it is difficult to realize this task very quickly. Every week we will observe the situation in each municipal region, we have much work to do”.

“Unfortunately there are people willing to earn money on it. As far as we had told that we needed flats, prices went up. It is very unfair, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.
President touched upon one more issue during the conversation with journalists. “It is important so that veterans not just receive flats but also may move to new housing. We have to support veterans in providing all necessary facilities”, - he stressed. “Veterans deserve it. Unfortunately, many of them have not seen new flats. Anyway, all we are doing today demonstrates our respect towards veterans”, - Rustam Minnikhanov considers.

By words of Aide to RT President on social issues Tatyana Larionova all veterans who needed housing improvement and had been registered before March, 1, 2005 have already been provided with housing. 27 veterans registered after this date have received flats during current year. According to Tatyana Larionova more than 100 veterans being in queue prefer to have flats outside republic to reunite with children, about 5 thousand people would like to live in Kazan.
