President of Tatarstan positively characterized social and economic parameters of Republic for I quarter 2010

A republican meeting “On results of implementation of RT consolidated budget for I quarter 2010 and tasks of financial, economic, treasury and tax bodies of RT for 2010 year” was held in RT Cabinet under chairmanship of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

“The first quarter showed certain positive results. The obligations of the I quarter have been fully implemented”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said. By his words, work of tax and treasury bodies in republic was well organized. Still we cannot say that Tatarstan economy has completely recovered from world crisis.

RT acting Minister of economy Marat Safiullin presented the main results of social and economic development of Republic Tatarstan in the I quarter of 2010. Thus, gross regional product of Tatarstan increased by 6, 5 %. Index of industrial production in January-march of 2010 made 108, 8 %, in March-106, 2 %. Productivity slowdown has been marked in wood processing, production of non-metallic and mineral items and electrical equipment.

Among municipal regions the leaders by rates of industrial production are Almetievsk, Nizhnekamsk, Kazan and Naberezhnnye Chelny regions.

Tatarstan has taken the first place in Volga federal district in January-February by rates of construction works, the third place by volume of housing commissioning among Russian regions and the 8th place by turnover of retail trade among Russian regions.

Agricultural sector demonstrates positive dynamics, - production volume of agriculture of all agricultural manufacturers in January-March has made 19 bln. roubles. Index of consumer prices in march 2010 has made 100,3 %. In February 2010 Tatarstan took the fourth place among regions of Volga federal district by size of average salary.

“In spite of crisis we should launch new projects”, - Marat Safiullin said. He thinks it will allow republic to develop successfully and overcome the crisis.
