President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: today republic is actively preparing for Universiade-2013

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with members of FISU delegation (Federation International Sports University) at the Kazan Kremlin.

We remind that on April,12 FISU delegation arrived in Kazan with inspection visit – in accordance with plan of preparation and agreement on main competences of XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan. Delegation consists of member of FISU executive committee – chairman of technical commission Stavros Duvis (Greece), director of summer Universiades of FISU Mark Vandeplas (Belgium), manager of sport programs of FISU Michael Bushel (Slovakia), director for mass media and communications of FISU Deyan Susovich (Serbia), member of FISU executive committee – president of Russian sport student union Oleg Matytsin (Russia).

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov FISU delegation will see all the works which have been done at the Universiade objects, except for football stadium. He said that all works are carried out with involvement of highly professional specialists and the use of previous experience in holding universiades. Recetly, 11 sport objects have been commissioned in Kazan. They are being actively used by citizens. 16 objects are to be constructed in 2010.

Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that Federal centre fulfills all commitments as regards supporting the project.

By and large, we do not worry about construction of sports objects, Rustam Minnikhanov said. A serious work is to be done on preparation of transport infrastructure. Road interchanges are being constructed already, international airport “Kazan” is being reconstructed.

Then, President of Tatarstan informed that systemic work on ensuring security during forthcoming games has been arranged. Force federal structures are working on ensuring security during the Universiade in Kazan and Olympic games in Sochi in integrated way.

Chairman of technical commission Stavros Duvis congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on inauguration and said that members of technical commission would do their best to support the project.

According to president of Russian sport student union Oleg Matytsin preparation for such a significant event of international level may become the efficient model for organizing other international sports competitions in future.
