On December 2, at the Kazan Fair Exhibition Center, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to Tatarstan President on Aviation Ravil Zaripov, Director General of Thuringian Economic Development Agency Andreas Krai, General Director of FDMA Russ Service and the Russian branch of the German Engineering Association Sven Flasskhoff attended a solemn opening ceremony of the 15th International Specialized Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” and the 10th Specialized Exhibition “TechnoWelding”.
More than 150 companies, including 133 companies from 29 Russian cities and 18 foreign companies from Italy, China, Belarus, Czech Republic, Latvia, Kazakhstan and the Russian representative office of Germany, Holland, Italy, India, China, France, Finland, the Czech Republic, South Korea and Japan, take part in the exhibition this year. Participants will demonstrate their machinery, components, manufacturing automation, welding materials, and other things.
Welcoming the audience, Minnikhanov said that this event is important for the entire Volga region.
"Tatarstan is an engineering republic. Our 2030 Strategy is based on the development of the machine-building complex. The exhibition has attracted large enterprises, universities, research centers," he said.
He reminded that Russia won the right to host the WorldSkills Championship in 2019, which will be held in Kazan.
Andreas Edge expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the specialized exhibitions.
The exhibitions will be open till December 4.
