Rustam Minnikhanov visits cultural heritage site, the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit

On November 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited a cultural heritage site, the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Sukonnaya Sloboda, Kazan.

The church was built between 1731 and 1735. It was closed in 1931. In 2012, it was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church. Reconstruction works have been carried out at the churcg with the government support.

Rustam Minnikhanov was met by Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan, who told about the history of the church. He thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his support.

Later on the same day, Rustam Minnikhanov went to the forum of Orthodox community that was held at Korston hotel, Kazan.
