Ildar Khalikov: Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant has made big contribution to formation of Russia as a great maritime state

On November 21, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, representatives of Russian Ministry of Defence, heads of regional ministries and agencies, and machine building enterprises and local administration took part in a solemn event dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Zelenodolsk  shipbuilding plant named after A.M.Gorky in the town of Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan.

Ildar Khalikov welcomed the audience and congratulated workers of the plant on the anniversary event. “It is an important date for any plant, as it confirms stability of production and personnel, gives confidence in successful future of the enterprise which stood the hardest times and continues working and developing,” Khalikov said.

The Prime Minister noted that during Great Patriotic War 2, 800 of 5, 000 workers went off to the war , and only 830 of them came back. In post-war years new submarine hunting, patrol and passenger ships were built at the plant. Nowadays the plant builds ships, special operations boats, small-size missile ship, fats passenger motor vessels, and oil tankers within the framework of military-technical cooperation.

According to Ildar Khalikov, the enterprise invested 800 mln rubles in technical modernization by the beginning of 2015. The plant also puts much emphasis on social programmes, in which it has invested 450 mln rubles since 2010.
