Interim restriction of traffic on federal and regional highways on April, 15 - May, 14 in Tatarstan

Interim restriction of traffic on federal and regional highways will be introduced in Republic Tatarstan on April, 15 - May, 14. The main goal of traditional spring traffic restriction is maintenance of roads and road objects in connection with decrease of bearing capacity of roads in spring time.

Acting deputy minister of transport and road construction Azat Galiakhmetov informed about it at a briefing in RT Cabinet. It was held in videoconference format with participation of all municipal regions.

Azat Galiakhmetov said that in 2010 restriction will concern maximum admissible load to axle weight, not the whole mass of a vehicle. It must not be more than 5 tones for axle.

Permissions will be issued in Kazan, Almetyevsk and Naberezhnye Chelny (during the first five days the issue will be done twenty-four-hour).

Besides, on federal and regional roads 22 posts of weight control are to be organized, - both stationary and movable.

As for patchwork on republican roads the deadline of its full completion is June, 1. The main volume of works should be completed by May, 1, 2010.
