Tatarstan President visits Aalto University and Startup Sauna business accelerator in Helsinki

On November 16, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Aalto University in Helsinki.

The Aalto University is unique due to the interaction between different disciplines. The main fields are science and technology, business as well as design and architecture. In particular, the School of Business of the Aalto University is the leading one in Finland.

More than 18,000 students, including about 10 per cent of overseas ones study at the Aalto University.

Minnikhanov and the delegation of the republic saw a presentation of the University, visited its facilities and one of the campuses.

The Aalto University combines modern approaches to education with cutting-edge technology that is of great interest to our republic, Minnikhanov said in particular.

At a meeting with the leadership of the University Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov briefed about the first Russian IT University Innopolis located near Kazan.

This autumn the Tatarstan IT park together with the Finnish Startup Sauna accelerator held an international selection of promising start-up projects.

Rustam Minnikhanov also got acquainted with the Startup Sauna business accelerator, located at the University.

Rustam Minnikhanov invited the Startup Sauna specialists  to visit Tatarstan again.
