Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in launching of production of Euro-5 petrol at TAIF-NK plant in Nizhnekamsk

On November 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Head of Nizhnekamsk region Aidar Metshin and Diretor General of OAO “TAIF” Albert Shigabutdinov took part in launching of production of Euro-5 petrol at TAIF-NK plant.

Ahead of technical regulations of Russian Government “On requirements to motor and aviation petrol, diesel and marine fuel for jet engines and industrial fuel”, TAIF-NK is launching production of Euro-5 petrol. The plant will stop producing fuels of lower grades.

Certain measures were taken on implementing modern technologies at the plant to start the production petrol of Euro-5 standard.

Euro-5 petrol does not contain a harmful substance, monomethylamine, and the content of sulphur is reduced, which minimizes the negative impact on the environment.   

TAIF-NK group comprises oil refinery, gasoline plant and gas condensate processing plant. The company is ranked 8th among oil refineries in Russia.

Speaking at a solemn ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov called TAIF-NK one of the most innovative sites of Russia’s oil refining industry.
