RT Cabinet and “Microsoft Rus” sign Agreement on cooperation

RT Cabinet and “Microsoft Rus” have signed Agreement on cooperation. The document was fixed by RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and President of “Microsoft Rus” Nikolai Pryanishnikov.

The Agreement implies to prolong centralized licensing agreement with Republic of Tatarstan. It is to be valid for three years and enables Tatarstan state power bodies to increase efficiency of work using up-to-date Microsoft technologies and products. Thus it becomes the next important step in realizing the project “E-government of Republic of Tatarstan”.

The document was signed at the meeting between RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and vice-president of Microsoft company in Central and Eastern Europe Mr Vakhe Torossyan.

Mr Vakhe Torossyan noted that a long-term partnership unites Microsoft company and Tatarstan. He reminded likewise that republic was the first region to sign agreement on cooperation in 2006. Today there are many other regions who have such agreements, but Tatarstan is a “number one” in the sphere of using and introduction of information technologies, Mr Torossyan said.

Vice-president of Microsoft company in Central and Eastern Europe Mr Vakhe Torossyan informed during the meeting with RT Prime Minister he had visited Kazan state university and IT park. He proposed that Kazan office of the company would move to IT park building.

Vakhe Torossyan approved the initiative of Tatarstan on supplying republican teachers with netbooks.

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, told about cooperation of Tatarstan with IDA Internatoinal company (Singapore) in the sphere of IT technologies.

RT Minister of informatization and communication Farit Fazylzyanov and director general of RT Centre of information technologies (CIT) under RT Cabinet Nikolai Nikiforov took part in the event.

When the meeting finished, vice-president of Microsoft company in Central and Eastern Europe Mr Vakhe Torossyan and President of “Microsoft Rus” Nikolai Pryanishnikov answered journalists’ questions.
