Issues of information coverage of Universiade 2013 discussed in House of Tatarstan government

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov held meeting on issues of preparation for information coverage of Universiade 2013 in Kazan. The members of working group ANO “Sport broadcasting”, the representatives of Directorate “Rosmediacom” and departments of VGTRK participated in the meeting.

The attendees discussed organization, preparation and providing necessary equipment and fiber-optic lines for several sport objects, international broadcasting centre and international press centre of Universiade 2013.

Head of Republican press and mass communications agency Marat Muratov made a report. RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Marat Bariev reported on preparing sport objects for summer Games 2013. He also informed that for summer Universiade in Kazan the record number of sports events - 26 were stated for summer Universiade. By and large 64 sport buildings and Universiade village will be involved within the framework of Universiade.

On the whole 37 sport arenas will be used for competitions (others serve for trainings). Currently, only several objects are provided with fiber-optic communication – Palace of martial arts, Tatneft-arena, Basket hall, Palace of field hockey and central stadium.

Specialists made requirements specification for preparing project documentation on providing sport objects with equipment and telecommunications for implementing broadcasting of competitions. And signal transmission.

Organization of TV broadcasting is meant to be at 37 sport arenas.

Rustam Minnikhanov announced that while preparing for information coverage of Universiade 2013 it is necessary to take into account the drawbacks of broadcasting similar competitions within the framework of summer Universiade 2009 in Serbia. He also suggested to examine the experience of Shandong (China), which is preparing for holding world summer sport student games in 2011.
