According to data on March 10, number of officially registered unemployed in Tatarstan is 68 000 people.

According to the latest data of Federal state statistics service number of employed people in Tatarstan has made 1,9 mln., RT Deputy Minister of labor, employment and social protection Klara Tazetdinova said at a briefing in the RT Cabinet. It was devoted to situation in labor market and held in format of videoconference with participation of all municipal regions.

Klara Tazetdinova informed that such quantity of employed people had been provided due to organization of public works and temporary working places. On the whole the number of officially registered unemployed people is increasing. According to data on January 1, 2010, number was 58 000; on March 10 it made 68 000 people.

RT Deputy Minister of labor, employment and social protection marked that growth of unemployment in spring time is a seasonal tendency for republican labor market. Among unemployed citizens are people dismissed from work by their own wish, one third of them had no work for long time.

Today the process of labor force legalization takes place, Klara Tazetdinova said. On average the level of the unemployed with respect to economically active population makes 3,32 %. Growth of unemployment is observed in 26 municipal formations, in 16 municipalities number of the unemployed is decreasing.

The highest level of unemployment was registered in Naberezhnye Chelny (about 6%), Elabuga and Spassky municipal region. 54 000 people in republic have part-time work.

Klara Tazetdinova announced that 1,5 bln. roubles are provided for unemployment compensation in budget of 2010. As for volume of funds meant for realization of anti-crisis measures it has been kept the same as in 2009 - 2,9 bln. roubles.

Answering journalists’ questions Deputy Minister of labor, employment and social protection informed that the number of unemployed people in Kazan makes 14,7 thousand. Level of unemployment here is 2,3 % with respect to economically active population. However, there are 5,4 thousand vacancies in labor market.
