Taliya Minnulina: Tatarstan is interested in experience of technological development of Japan

On October 20, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House on results of working visits of Tatarstan delegation to Japan, China and Turkey, Chief of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency said that Japan takes leading positions in terms of technology in the world and Tatarstan is very interested in its experience.

Minnulina reminded that Tatarstan delegation led by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to Japan on October 4-5.

Representatives of Tatarstan delegation participated in an annual international forum, Science and Technology in Society, which was held in Kyoto, Japan.

In Kyoto, Minnikhanov met President and Chief Operating Officer of Yokogawa Electric Takashi Nishijima. Tatarstan and Yokogawa Electric signed a protocol of intent determining cooperation areas for the next three years.

According to Minullina, Tokyo hosted the fifth meeting of the Russian-Japanese Advisory Council on modernization of the economy with participation of management of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sojitz Corporation.

Moreover, Tatarstan delegation and President and CEO of Toshiba Corporation discussed energy cooperation of the parties involved.

"Tatarstan is cooperating with Japan in various fields. In particular, in the sphere of education, healthcare, and other industries. Technology is Japan’s strongest area which interests us," Minullina concluded.

Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ildar Mingaleev and Deputy Minister of Economy of the republic Bulat Khaziakhmetov took part in the meeting.
