Tatarstan and MasterCard sign agreement on cooperation

On October 2, during the International investment forum Sochi-2015, Tatarstan and MasterCard international payment system signed agreement on cooperation in the sphere of information and payment services aimed at social and economic development of the republic.

The agreement implies realization of a number of joint projects aimed at large-scale implementation of non-cash payments and modern payment technologies.

Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan and MasterCard had been cooperating for many years, and MasterCard technological solutions were used during preparation for Universiade 2013, in projects “Electronic government”, “School card”, and others.

In the nearest time Tatarstan and MasterCard will start developing a unified payment identification tool – “Card of a citizen of the Republic of Tatarstan”, and the concept “Non-cash city” that will be realized in Innopolis satellite town.

Moreover, development of the network of non-cash payments in transport, medical, educational spheres and sports venues will be continued. Special attention will be paid on increasing financial awareness and promotion of non-cash payments among the population.
