Two sessions of the State Council and Inauguration of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan will be held in September

In September the State Council will hold two meetings and inauguration of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. This decision was taken today at a meeting of the Presidium of the Parliament.

Tatarstan Parliament Speaker Farid Mukhametshin opened the meeting by announcing the results of the presidential and municipal elections. The head of the parliament noted the importance of creating a unified information center for the announcing the voting process and thanked Tatarstan citizens for showing unity and full support for the president's course.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ekzam Gubaidullin has reported the final results of the voting. “Elections of the President of Tatarstan and deputies of municipalities were held in accordance with the federal and republican legislation. 2.4 million of  people (out of 2.9 million voters in total) took part in the elections. The turnout accounted for 84.2%.

The incumbent President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gained 2.3 million of votes that is 94.4%. His opponents Hafiz Mirgalimov, Rushaniya Bilgildeeva and Ruslan Yusupov gained 2.5%, 1.6%, and 0.8% of votes respectively.

The head of the parliament noted that several important political events will be held in the republic this September, such as inauguration of the President of Tatarstan, formation of the new Government, annual message of the President to the Tatarstan State Council.

The ceremony of inauguration of the Tatarstan President will be held on September 18 at the State Grand Concert Hall named after Salih Saidashev. Due to great public interest, the Presidium of the Tatarstan State Council took a decision that this meeting will be broadcast live on radio and television.

Tatarstan President-elect will take the oath in the presence of deputies of the State Council, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, judges of the Constitutional Court and other officials.
