On August 18, at video conference briefing Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaikhraziev reported that the construction cost of WorldSkills Arena exhibition centre designed to hold WorldSkills Competition in 2019 will definitely exceed 1 billion roubles.

According to Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, the project work is underway. Then, the project will be presented to Interim President of Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov and considered for approval of WorldSkills members. General  contractor  and funding source  will be determined.  The construction of the facility must be completed by 2018.

Vasil Shaikhraziev went on to report that the project will be financed from the budget. “We hope that there will be investors who are willing to invest in the project. The exhibion centre should be  self-sufficient and profitable as it will host many events to be held in Tatarstan, Volga region and Russia. Construction of all exhibion centres in the world is usually financed by government. It will be a great achievement if it becomes self-sufficient. The events organized by regional ministers and held in "Kazan Fair" exhibition center will move to a new site, so the new centre will be partly financed from regional budget,” he added.

To the point, the centre will house conference halls, restaurants, cafes and a hotel.
