Prime minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: RT Ministry of forestry's work must be featured by scientific approach

Today we see how much the quality of life depends on inhabitancy, and the wood branch plays a great role in this issue, RT Premier R. N. Minnikhanov stated at the session of board of the RT Ministry of forestry.

Rosleskhoz chief of budgetary-finance administration Nikolai Petrunin took part in a work of collegium.

Addressing the experts of wood branch, RT Prime minister reminded that a strategy of forestry development has been elaborated quite recently (it was discussed at the RT Cabinet session on December 17, 2009).

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov, the branch regarding business development demands serious investments, and it is necessary to arrange the work correctly in this direction.

Among the projects demanding studying, RT Prime minister called cooperation in a sphere of wood processing with the companies of China (in particular, with company Guangdong Weihua Corporation (China) within the limits of the investment project “Complex use of semi-subsistence wood of sparsely forested regions on example of Republic Tatarstan”.

Besides, in Rustam Minnikhanov's opinion, it is necessary to pay attention to the further development of wood nurseries, preparation of seed fund. Head of the RT Government called the wood nurseries « effective, highly remunerative business » where it is possible to organize maintenance with a various planting material.

RT Prime minister considers also that the coordinated work regarding the actions connected with forest shelter belts, especially along highways is necessary. Forest shelter belts provide economic feasibility in service and operation of highways.

«The scientific approach should become one of features of the Ministry’s work, - Rustam Minnikhanov said further. - without a science there will be no innovations, a competitive approach in work will not be provided".

RT Prime minister thanked foresters for their contribution to the economy of republic. He marked that a forest branch is independent, and Minleskhoz should find its niche in new economic conditions.
