Implementation of investment project “Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistic center” discussed at RT Government

Republic of Tatarstan is interested in implementation of investment project “Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistic center” RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov said today at a meeting on issues of project implementation.

Deputy Minister of transport of Russia Andrei Nedosekov, RT Minister of transport and road construction Gennady Emelyanov took part in the meeting.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that for successful realization of project it is necessary to join the efforts of federal and republican structures and attract private investors. He reminded that JSC “Russian railways” also displayed interest in Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistic center. Its commissioning will allow RZHD to ramp up the volume of freight transport in some directions.

RT Deputy Minister of transport and road construction Aleksandr Tygin reported on carried works. He suggested considering creation of a single organization (such as joint-stock company) for the best management of the project.

Such transport companies as “Transkonteiner” and “Intrans” are intended to participate in the project as private investors.

We remind that project “Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistic center” includes auto and railway terminal, a port with access ways, loading and uploading facilities, areas for short-term storage, processing and shipment of goods. Launching of logistic center will allow decreasing transport expenses of shippers, enlarge trade connections of Russia, increase income from transport and service activity and adopt advanced logistic technologies.

Deputy Minister of transport of Russia Andrei Nedosekov thanked for organization of meeting and expressed hope in respect of constant holding of such meetings. He said likewise that the project is a “pilot” one and a key task is to ignite interest of private investors for its realization.
