On June 24, answering journalists’ questions after his looking around the International Field Days exhibition Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov declared that facilities for production of reclamation machinery may be established in Tatarstan.

"In recent years, climate change makes us focus our attention on drought-tolerant crops, the use of technology that can retain moisture, and land reclamation. There are many new crops that can withstand higher temperature and lack of moisture. We have discussed the possibility of establishing facilities for the production of reclamation machinery in Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov said, in particular.

In his turn Peter Chekmarev, the Director of Crops Growing Department, Chemical and Crop Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia said that today Tatarstan produces agricultural equipment of the international standard.

"Today, import substitution is not only in production of food but also in agricultural machinery, which will contribute to economic growth of our country,” he added.

Minnikhanov noted that today the world leaders in the production of agricultural machinery, in particular, the American manufacturer John Deere, are interested in localization of their production facilities in Russia.
