20.04.2015

On April 20, at a session of Tatarstan Presidential Anti-corruption Council on observance of anti-corruption laws, increasing efficiency of application of budgetary funds and state property, and control activity at the Kazan Kremlin, Interim President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that despite anti-corruption measures it is too early to talk about changes.

Speaking at the session, Minnikhanov stressed that Russia is experiencing a tough period because of economic sanctions and falling national currency, and we should prevent decrease of the economic growth because of corruption and other law violations.

By results of inventory of unregistered municipal property in 2013-2014, 50, 000 objects without necessary documents of state registration were found in the republic. Property rights of 15, 000 objects were registered. These measures helped to mobilize 90 million roubles. Another positive example mentioned by Rustam Minnikhanov was the contest for the right to rent state property.

However, the number of violations has not decreased, Minnikhanov added. According to opinion polls, every eighth citizen faced corruption last year. Law enforcement agencies bring 250, 000 people to justice every year.

Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, heads of regional ministries and agencies, and representatives of different religious confessions took part in the session.
