Rustam Minnikhanov about “Strategy 2030”: outside point of view is very important for us

On April 11, at a session of the international conference on development of the Strategy of social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030 (“Tatarstan 2030: the development strategy”) in Korston hotel (Kazan), Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic will realize strategic planning notwithstanding tough economic situation.

“Tatarstan is effectively working on forming perspective growth points to facilitate economic development of the republic in the short and long term. In order to plan 15 years ahead we need to analyze changes during the same period,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He told that new industrial complexes, such as Kama industrial innovation and production cluster specializing in oil refining, petrochemistry and automotive production, “anchor” enterprises “TANECO”, “TAIF-NK”, “KAMAZ”, “Nizhnekamskheftekhim” and Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” have been created in the republic.

Minnikhanov reminded that 40 per cent of the republic’s industrial production and half of Russian production of polyethylene, synthetic rubber are located in Kama cluster, and every second truck is produced there. Investment projects with the total cost of 600 billion roubles are implemented at enterprises of the cluster.

Rustam Minnikhanov focused on TANECO, the biggest oil refinery in the country. Due to modernization of TAIF-NK complex, the region started hundred-per-cent production of Euro-5 diesel fuel in 2012. In 2016 the plant will start producing high-quality light oils that will cover requirements of the country and will be exported.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned SEZ Alabuga that plays an important role in regional economy. 49 residents are registered on its territory.
According to development plan, 120 residents will be attracted, 120, 000 jobs will be created and 360 billion roubles of investments will be attracted by 2023.

Minnikhanov continued that technoparks and industrial sites are developing in the republic, including the biggest in Europe Kama industrial park “Master”, technopolis Himgrad, and high technology technopark “IT-park”.
