On March 17, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministries, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Information Technology and Communication of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov said that the 3-rd regional IT Champion competition will begin in Tatarstan on March 18 .

“The competition was held in 2013-2014 and, foremost, aims at promoting electronic services available on the website uslugi.tatarstan.ru website, as well as the mobile application with the same name,” the Minister said.

This year’s event includes two nominations, Most Active Student and Most Active School. Following results of each stage three school students from each municipality will be awarded tablet PCs, while all students will be able to exchange the accrued points for commemorative prizes.

“Prizes to the winners are to be given personally by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, which, no doubt, increases the competition importance and attitude of the republic to the IT Champion competition being the tool to increase welfare of citizens,” Shaikhutdinov continued.

This year, the scoring system has undergone some changes. In particular, five points are to be given to a school student for each web-based payment made by an adult. Besides, additional points are to be given for some services. Seven points will be awarded for paying for housing and utilities services and five will be given for reporting metered values. Another five are to be scored for using the Automated Payment service.
