Rustam Minnikhanov: "The industrial safety is ensured at a high level in Tatarstan "

On February 3, speaking at an extended meeting of Volga Department of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service in Tatarstan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Department performs considerable work to ensure the industrial safety in Tatarstan.

Making a report at the meeting, Head of the Volga Department in Tatarstan Boris Petrov said that about 60,000 organizations controlled by the Department are located in Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Mari El republics.

Petrov dwelled on the tasks and challenges in the field of industrial safety. According to him, first and foremost task is industrial safety training, since the human factor is the main cause of accidents.

He also touched on the issue of equipment wear. According to him, measures to encourage owners to upgrade their outdated equipment are required.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the regional economy is the fifth largest in Russia and continues to develop.

"The industrial safety is ensured at a high level in Tatarstan. The Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service works hard to prevent emergencies," Minnikhanov summed up and handed in a number of awards to the employees of the Volga Department in Tatarstan.
