Farid Mukhametshin meets with head of Parliament of Leningrad region

Today, on January 19, Tatarstan Parliament Speaker Farid Mukhametshin and Head of Leningrad Regional Parliament Sergey Bebenin discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation between the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad region that was signed back in 2010.

The meeting was also attended by chairman of the Standing Committee on Budget and Taxes of Leningrad Legislative Assembly Nicholay Pustotin, Vice Chairman of State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Kamaltynov, Secretary of the RT State Council Lilia Mavrina and heads of parliamentary committees.

Farid Mukhametshin informed the guests on socio-economic situation in the republic and told about the progress achieved in the development of innovative regional industry clusters.

The meeting participants voiced concern about the need to develop regional budgets during tough economic times. The discussions were also focused on the forthcoming election campaign.

Following the meeting with Tatarstan Parliament Speaker, the delegation met with chairman of the RT State Council Committee on economics, investment and business Rafis Burganov and chairman of the Committee on budget, taxes and finances Leonid Yakunin to discuss the aspects of legislative work of the two parliaments.

The 3-day program of the delegation of the Leningrad Region includes visiting of cultural and historic sites, educational and scientific complex of the Kazan Federal University, Kazan IT-park and other facilities.
