Tatarstan President: “Potential of our cooperation with Kamchatka is huge”

On November 28, at his meeting with Governor of Kamchatka region Vladimir Ilyukhin at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and Kamchatka have a huge potential for developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed Vladimir Ilyukhin and thanked him for the visit to the republic.
“We signed the agreement on cooperation during our visit to Kamchatka, and your visit is in line with this agreement. Also, we are glad that you took part in Eurasian forum in Kazan,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President noted that the republic supplies cars, spirits and food to Kamchatka, and Kamchatka supplies the republic with fish. Minnikhanov said that the republic is ready to help with finding the place for selling products imported from Kamchatka, such as Agro-industrial park in Kazan.
In his turn, Vladimir Ilyukhin thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for an opportunity to visit Tatarstan and learn about achievements of the republic. He noted that the two regions should think about arranging direct supplies of fish products.
Ilyukhin continued that there is no high-speed internet on the peninsula yet, and Tatarstan experience in this sphere can be very useful.
Also, Ilyukhin offered Tatarstan oil industry workers to consider oil production in the region. Kamchatka is also interested in investments in construction of fish breeding plants.
Summing up, Vladimir Ilyukhin said that he was very impressed by the island town of Sviyazhsk.
Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, First Vice-premier Aleksey Pesoshin took part in the meeting.
