Rustam Minnikhanov visits Haji Ali mosque in Mumbai

On November 19, during his visit to India, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Haji Ali mosque in Mumbai.
Tatarstan President was told about the legend about the mosque.
Haji Ali mosque is a city landmark and one of the most popular religious places in Mumbai for people of different confessions. In 2010 it was included in the list of one of the seven Wonders of the city of Mumbai.
It is believed that Haji Ali accomplished miracles and preached Islam in India during his lifetime. According to the legend, he died on his way back from Mecca. He directed his followers to cast the coffin carrying his body into the Arabian Sea. The mosque was built on the place where his relics were found.
