Development strategies of republic’s higher educational institutions presented to Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Permanent Representative of World Bank in Russia Klaus Roland

The rectors of Tatarstan higher educational institutions presented strategies of further development of higher schools in Kazan city hall. Each strategy has been developed with participation of experts from the World Bank in development context of the whole educational system in the republic.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Director and Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Russia Klaus Roland, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of economy of Republic Tatarstan Marat Safiullin, Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov, head of directorate of off -budget programs of development of Kazan Vladimir Gritskikh took part in the event.

While opening the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that republic has been cooperating with the World Bank on implementation of various projects for 10 years. In particular, it was reforming of communal infrastructure on the threshold of Kazan anniversary, research of republican population for the purpose of monitoring the level and quality of life and other projects.

Ilsur Metshin informed that due to cooperation with the World Bank the republic managed to realize a number of projects for the sum of 5 bln. roubles rather successfully. He thanked experts of World Bank for joint work on analyzing the state of republican higher school and Tatarstan government for support.

Mayor of Kazan said that Russian government had supported the idea of foundation of federal university in Kazan and organization of student campus on the basis of future Universiade village.

The rectors of Kazan State University n.a.Lenin, Kazan State Technological University, Kazan State Technical University n.a. Tupolev, Kazan State Agricultural University, Kazan State academy of architecture and building, Kazan Institute of Finance and Economics, Kazan State medical university, Tatar state pedagogical university of humanities and other institutions presented their own strategies at the meeting.
