On November 6, at their meeting at Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov discussed further cooperation, organization and holding of sports matches.

In particular, Russian Chess Superfinal will be held in Kazan on November 27 – December 7, 2014.

During his visit to Kazan Kirsan Ilyumzhinov also met Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev.
