Mobile application to report traffic violations to be available for Tatarstan residents

05.11.2014

On November 5, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov said that residents of the republic will be able to report traffic violations using a special free application “Inspector” to be available for download for iOS and Android mobile devices from November 10.

“The application is designed to create a tool for public control on the roads and improve road safety," he told journalists.

In his turn, Head of Tatarstan Traffic Police Rifkat Minnikhanov stressed that so far the application is meant only for pedestrians and passengers who witness the violation of traffic regulations, because photos and videos can be taken using the installed application only.

According to Roman Shaikhutdinov, the creation of the mobile application was initiated by representatives of the Federation of Russian Car Owners in Tatarstan and Traffic Police of the republic and took more than three months.

All registered violations will be sent to call center of the Center of information technologies of the republic, processed and forwarded to district offices of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, where the decision about making up a protocol will be made.
