Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov: “Import Substitution during Crisis is very Urgent”

Plenary session of forum for small and medium-size entrepreneurship "Import substitution - new course of small and medium-size entrepreneurship development in Russia" was held in the RT Cabinet. President of All-Russian public organization of small and medium-size entrepreneurship "OPORA ROSSII" Sergey Borisov said that creation of conditions for development of small and medium-size entrepreneurship, change of certification terms, commercialization of scientific development – here are some components for import substitution and competitive ability of Russian goods.

More than one thousand Tatarstan businessmen took part in session. It was broadcasted in all municipal regions of the republic via videoconference communications.

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov opened plenary session. “Today we pay attention to the domestic market and small entrepreneurship may cope with this task better than anyone else. Authorities, in their turn, should support small and medium-size entrepreneurship”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Sergey Borisov said that import substitution may be considered as anti-crisis measure. It doesn’t mean that we are going to close all borders for import goods and technologies; we will pay attention to our own producer giving possibility to produce competitive goods. Sergey Borisov considers Tatarstan to be one of the leaders in this sphere exemplifying the successful development of Kamsky industrial park “Master” (Naberezhnye Chelny). He stressed likewise that it is necessary to supply small and medium-size entrepreneurship with infrastructure (areas for offices, production buildings, correct “uncivilized system of certification”, provide access to markets).

Besides, Head of public organization "OPORA ROSSII" is sure that it is necessary to hasten the process of commercialization of scientific development and inventions.
