Today, on September 16, Secretary of United Russia's Tatarstan branch, Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin held a video conference with the secretaries of local branches, chiefs of political campaign staffs and leaders of the executive committees of local branches of the party.
Farid Mukhametshin informed his colleagues about the results of the election campaign and determined the working plan for the next five years.
The Head of Tatarstan branch noted that the main focus of this campaign was meeting with voters. Thus, about 1800 meetings with people living in rural and urban areas of the republic were held. “This unique format of direct communication with the people, on the one hand, allowed to listen to complaints and suggestions of citizens and, on the other - to tell them about what has been done in Tatarstan in recent years. Such approach showed that the government is becoming more open to people,” he said.
Farid Mukhametshin noted that all proposals and requests of citizens will be included into a party’s working plan for the next five years. At the same time, many of the requests will be solved through the republican target programs.
Farid Mukhametshin congratulated his colleagues with a convincing victory and thanked for coordinated work during the election campaign.
Following the video conference, Tatarstan Parliament Speaker was interviewed by republican mass media representatives.
Journalists asked the head of the parliament to comment on the record high voter turnout in the elections to the State Council, which accounted for 80.81% vs. 78.4% in 2009.
F. Mukhametshin said that this was due to both high rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin and successful development of the republic itself. “Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov who topped the list of “United Russia” in this election, has a high rating in the country, which certainly influenced the overall results of the “United Russia in the elections.”
“People are united around strong government,” he added.
