The 8th Congress of CIS Oncologists and Radiologists opens in Kazan

On September 16, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Russian Deputy Minister of Health Tatyana Yakovleva took part in a plenary session of the 8th Congress of CIS Oncologists and Radiologists in Kazan (September 16-18).

Leading Russian and international medical specialists gathered at the biggest event for medical and oncological association in CIS countries.

Main issue to be discussed at the congress will be the comprehensive approach to diagnostics and rehabilitation of oncological patients.

Before the plenary session Ildar Khalikov looked around the presented exposition.

Opening the session, Chairman of the congress presidium, chief oncologist of Russia Mikhail Davydov thanked regional authorities for organization of the congress. Ildar Khalikov, in his turn, conveyed greetings of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to participants of the event.

“We are so glad that this big event is being held in Tatarstan. It is a great opportunity for our specialists and research centres to get familiar with global trends in treatment of oncological diseases,” the Prime Minister said.

Ildar Khalikov expressed his special gratitude to Professor Mikhail Davydov for his great contribution to development of Russian medicine, and noted the utmost interest displayed by the congress participants towards the event. He wished everyone successful work and pleasant impressions from staying in Kazan.

Ildar Khalikov also handed letters of gratitude of Tatarstan President to chief oncologist of Russia Mikhail Davydov, professor Evgeny Sigal, professor Vladimir Potanin, and professor Ildar Agliullin.

Russian Deputy Minister of Health Tatyana Yakovleva read out greetings on behalf of Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, and told about government measures on decreasing death rate in the country.
