Tasma launches food packaging film production line

On August 11, SPE "Tasma" launched new prospective production line in Kazan. The company with 80 years of history has developed production of heat-shrink barrier film. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn launching ceremony.

To the point, the barrier film is used for food packaging to extend the product storage and shelf life. The film formulation was developed based on the Italian technology, but with the participation of Tasma’s specialists. With the total amount of investment making 303.5 million roubles, the primary source of funding for the project is provided by Sberbank of Russia.

Welcoming participants of the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov noted with satisfaction that the doubts about the Tasma’s future are left behind.

Also, Minnikhanov outlined that the production is aimed to substitute import, which is especially important in view of sanctions imposed against Russia, and that is a good moment to present quality products to the market.

The President thanked Sberbank, the Italian partners, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for supporting the idea to establish a scientific and training center for professionals in the field of polymer processing at the new production facilities. Then, the honoured guests pressed a symbolic button to launch the production.

Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, Minister of Construction Irek Faizullin, Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Denis Kalinkin also attended the ceremony.
