More than 172 000 war veterans and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War and workers of labor fronts live in Tatarstan

A briefing in RT Cabinet: on issues of preparation for celebration of the 64-anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War was held in the RT Cabinet. RT Minister of health care Airat Farrakhov and RT Deputy Minister of labour, employment and social protection Azat Gabdulakhatov took part in the meeting.

Totally 172 000 war veterans and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War and workers of labor fronts live in Tatarstan. 15 158 are disabled veterans and war veterans, 16 708 - widows of war veterans, 140 859 - workers of labor fronts.

Azat Gabdulakhatov informed about the size of weekly payments for this class of population. He also told about measures to improve living conditions of war veterans.

We remind that in accordance with Russian President’s decree (dated 7, May 2008 № 714) the task is set to provide housing for those who need it to be improved and those disabled veterans and war veterans, widows of war veterans who were registered before 1, March 2005. Republic received 222,068 mln. roubles for this purpose. Besides it is planned to allocate 519, 466 mln. roubles more in 2009.

Within the action all disabled veterans and war veterans were provided with auto transport (or money compensation - 100 000 roubles).

For about 100 people relevant to this category live in 11 municipal regions of republic (in each region). More than 1000 veterans live In Sovetsky, Privolzhsky districts of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. The age of the most “young” war veterans reaches 83-85 years.
