On May 15 Tatarstan Parliament Speaker, Chairman of the Assembly of Tatarstan Nations Farid Mukhametshin held a meeting with Vice Head of Russian Presidential Administration Magomedsalam Magomedov at the House of Friendship of Tatarstan Peoples. The Head of the republican parliament spoke about the history of the Assembly, its mission and objectives.

Farid Mukhametshin showed the guest the classrooms of Sunday school, which was established on the initiative of the Council of the Assembly of Tatarstan Nations. Here children of different nationalities attend dance, vocal and language classes. The school consists of 22 groups of 10 - 15 pupils each.

“The Sunday school of the House of Friendship of Tatarstan Peoples has multifaceted goals, such as preservation of the language, customs and traditions of the peoples living in Tatarstan. I would like to note that representatives of this or that nation are included into national-cultural autonomies and they, in turn, united in the Assembly of Tatarstan Nations,” F. Mukhametshin said.

Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Assembly of Tatarstan Nations Nikolai Vladimirov told the immigrants about an Employment Agency that has operated for over 8 years. In July 2013 it was replaced by an autonomous non-profit organization “Center on Immigrant Integration Policy.” The center helps foreign citizens to find a job, prepare necessary documents, pass medical examination and improve language skills.

The Assembly organizes round tables with participation of heads of national cultural autonomies, law enforcement and government agencies.

The House of Friendship of Tatarstan Peoples was opened on May 26, 1999 in order to preserve and develop the cultures of peoples of Tatarstan, provide state support for public national and cultural organizations, which were united in the Association of National Cultural Communities of the Republic of Tatarstan (now - the Assembly of Tatarstan Nations). In 2012, on the 20th anniversary of the Assembly, the ceremonial opening of the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan was held. It housed national public organizations, Sunday school, editors of the magazine “Our Home – Tatarstan” and Museum of Friendship.
