Rustam Minnikhanov meets with members of Tatar community of Kaliningrad region

On May 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with members of Tatar community of Kaliningrad region.
Governor of Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov, members of Government of Kaliningrad region, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Chairman of Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov took part in the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed activists of Tatar community and told them about projects that help uniting Tatars around the world and preserving the language, culture and traditions. He noted that it is difficult to preserve the Tatar language, culture and customs especially outside Tatarstan. The World Congress of Tatars is one of organizations meant to unite Tatars.
Answering questions of members of Tatar community, Rustam Minnikhanov said that today representatives of Tatar youth from Russian regions can study at Tatarstan higher educational institutions, spend holidays and study the Tatar language in summer language camps.
Tatars of Kaliningrad region asked Rustam Minnikhanov to help with construction of cathedral mosque in the region, and organization of direct flights from Kazan to Kaliningrad, tours and concerts of Tatar artists.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov presented Commendations of Tatarstan President to most active members of the community for contribution to preservation of spiritual and moral and cultural traditions of Tatar people, consolidation of inter-ethnic friendship and cooperation.
