Winners of II International Olympiad in the Tatar language and literature honoured in Kazan

On April 30, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov took part in solemn closing ceremony of II International Olympiad in the Tatar language and literature at Tatar academic state opera and ballet theatre named after M.Dzhalil.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the number of participants of the Olympiad increased this year. “Olympiad plays an important role in preservation of the Tatar language, traditions and customs of Tatar people. Due to this event we can meet with you and show you Tatarstan,” he added.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked participants of the Olympiad and expressed his hope that they will continue helping to preserve and develop the Tatar language. He presented awards to the winners.

Grand Prix was presented to postgraduate student of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Yuto Hisiyama and a student of Apastovo school IlyuzaGaifullina. It was noted that 300 pupils and students, who showed best results in distant round, took part in in-person Olympiad round.

Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov congratulated the winners, expressing his hope that the number of participants will increase in future. He also thanked Kazan Federal University for helping to organize the event.
