On April 29, the I Interregional Forum "Tasks on modernization of housing and utility sector: regional practices and initiatives of Tatarstan" is being held in Kazan. Heads of housing and utility enterprises from different Russian regions, representatives of Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utility Reform Foundation, Tatarstan Government, members of the Russian State Duma and Tatarstan State Council are taking part in the event. The forum aims at establishing professional dialogue and strengthening relations between participants of the housing and utility market.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary session.
“At present, the housing and utility sector is a high technology infrastructure that needed serious preparation. IT and other technological innovations being implemented in the housing and utility sector require a completely different attitude from us. At the same time, the infrastructure is not in the best condition, there are a lot of problems with the staff and the management system is not quite effective,” Rustam Minnikhanov said in his speech.
Among tasks that needed a decision in the housing and utility sphere he pointed out the need to eliminate the gaps in the legislation, develop large-scale programmes like programmes of capital repair of houses. In particular, he said that the programme to modernize the infrastructure and arrange the water and heating supply system is needed. Tatarstan President believes that this work is being done in Tatarstan, but it requires a more systematic approach.
