Farid Mukhametshin: parliament needs continuity of legislative traditions

On April 23, primaries took place in Aznakayevo. 15 candidates to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the 5th convocation, Farid Mukhametshin among them presented themselves to electors.
Farid Mukhametshin pointed to the rising activity of the participants of primaries. “The forthcoming election campaign in the Republic of Tatarstan will be challenging, with 64 registered parties, many of which will compete with the United Russia.”
Speaking as the candidate, Farid Mukhametshin said that a deputy should stay in control. A deputy is always in the public eye and a rash word is a big loss for the ruling party. According to the speaker, the primaries are a sort of training and opportunity to be best remembered by electors. The quality of presentations is rising each time – the level of speech-craft and argumentation get better.
“The parliament should consist of people of different ages, nationalities and professional activities,” he said. “At the same time the best traditions of legislative activity should continue from convocation to convocation.”
