On March 18 at a briefing at RT Government House on development of relations between Tatarstan and Crimea in the sphere of tourism and children’s holidays, Head of Tatarstan Tourism Agency Sergey Ivanov said that 5.9 million tourists, including 2.3 million Russian tourists, visited Crimea in 2013. There are 800 health and recreation centres in Crimea, he noted.

“Crimea is a unique resort, one of four places in the world with such weather conditions, with rich cultural and historical heritage,” he said.

Sergey Ivanov also told about tourist forum “Crimea. First spring” that was held in Simferopol on March 13-14, 2014, when agreements on cooperation between Crimea and some Russian regions were signed. 250 people took part in the forum.

Members of Tatarstan delegation have visited 15 health and recreation centres, where preparatory works for a new tourist season are carried out.

Crimean authorities inform that this year unprecedented prices will be offered for Russian tourists, since the number of Ukrainian tourists will be far less than earlier.

Moreover, direct flights from Kazan to Simferopol will be organized in May-September.

Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Rustam Garifullin told about work of the Regional centre “Chernomorets” that organizes holidays for youth and children on the Black Sea. Every year 5, 000 children from Tatarstan spend holidays in Crimea.
