Rustam Minnikhanov meets Rector of Shandong University

On 23 September the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Shandong University and had a meeting with its Rector Li Shucai, where he noted the importance of the current educational forum for universities of two countries. “We have once again confirmed that the Shandong University is the flagship of the research and education complex of the province.  You are recognized leaders in the fields of mathematics, engineering, medicine and many other areas of science and technology,” he said. 

He attracted attention to the fact that Tatarstan also traditionally serves as a driving force behind educational and scientific-technological development of Russia. The Rais of the republic informed that there are 45 higher educational institutions in the republic training more than 150 thousand students, and about 130 scientific institutions which carry our research work. He also told about the implementation of the project of a world level scientific center – six federal advanced engineering schools. 

“Our republic confidently ranks among the top three in the National Rating of Scientific and technological development of the entities of the Russian Federation and holds the first place nationwide in terms of the level of innovation activity among organizations. I am sure that he establishment of the Russia-China University of Advanced Technologies will give a powerful impetus to the further expansion of ties between your university and scientific and educational organizations of Tatarstan,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.

During his working trip, the Rais of the republic also visited the Institute of Control Systems and Engineering at the Qianfoshan Campus, where he and rectors of universities of the republic, who accompanied him in his trip, were demonstrated developments created at the institute.
