Rustam Minnikhanov gives an errand to step up safety measures during forthcoming elections to the State Duma

On 12 September, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to step up security measures during the forthcoming elections to the Russia State Duma to be held on 18-20 September.  He called for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of elections commissions and to check the readiness of the polling stations for voting.

“It is necessary to verify the reliability of the power supply system and communication lines, the availability of transport and the arrangements for providing meals to commission members,” the Rais of the republic said and emphasized that all assigned services must take comprehensive measures  to ensure security and public order at polling stations and public places.

“Elections in the republic should be held at a high organizational level. The most important is that the legitimacy of their results will serve further strengthening the trust of people to the power institutions,” he stated.
