Rustam Minnikhanov opens three ice palaces in Tatarstan

On 10 September during his working trip to Tukayevskiy region, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of opening an ice palace “Tukay Arena” in the Settlement of Krugloe Pole and two more similar facilities were opened via videoconference in the settlements of Aksubaevo and Novosheshminsk. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the republic carries out huge work in the development of sport infrastructure and informed that today in the morning indoor football pitches were opened in four regions of the republic. A new figure skating center was put into operation in Kazan in the end of August, he added.

“Today we are opening three ice arenas. By the end of 2029 we plan to build nine more skating rinks. Thus ice palaces will be working in all regions of the republic. It is very important for us that every resident of Tatarstan, no matter what his age is, can do sports and physical culture and have a healthy life style,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

He emphasized that people in the republic like hockey and today there are 12 133 sports facilities, including 56 ice palaces in Tatarstan.
