Aleksandr Kurenkov and Rustam Minnikhanov open the complex for training firefighters and rescuers in Laishevo region

On 4 September The Russian Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM)  Aleksandr Kurenkov,  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov , Governor of Krasnoyarsk region Mikhail Kotyukov and the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security for the Russian Federal Assembly Vladimir Bulavin took part in a ceremony of opening the training complex for firefighters and rescuers and a new fire and rescue station (FRS-80) in the village of Stolbischi in Laishevo region of the republic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Aleksandr Kurenkov emphasized that the training center has a big importance not just for Tatarstan but also for the whole system of the EMERCOM.

“This is the first educational complex of this scale in the country. It has specialized training grounds each of which is dedicated to separate kind of rescue work and altogether they form an integrated, well thought-out training system. This approach makes it possible to practice and consolidate – in a practical setting- the skills that specialists will apply when rescuing people in real-world conditions,” the Russian Minister said.

In his turn, having said that Laishevo region is special for the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the new training grounds is a source of special pride as it will make it possible not just to maintain skills of rescuers but to continuously refine them.

Moreover the new fire and rescue station located close to the center will become a solid shield for more than 25 thousand residents of the region as they will be able to count on more rapid assistance in extinguishing breaking fires and in conducting emergency rescue operations, the Rais of the republic said.

“Tatarstan traditionally attaches priority attention to security issues. We develop the system of warning and liquidation of emergency situations, renovate the machinery fleet, implement digital technologies and train specialists. Today’s event is an important link in this huge systemic work,” he concluded.

In conclusion Aleksandr Kurenkov and Rustam Minnikhanov handed in a number of Ministry and state awards to the Ministry employees and builders and, accompanied by the Counselor of the EMERCOM Minister Daniil Martynov, looked round the training complex.
