Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of opening World Nomad Games in Bishkek

On 31 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov came on a working trip to Bishkek where he, accompanied by the Chairman of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Marlen Mamataliev , took part in a ceremony of opening the VI World Nomad Games at the new stadium Bishkek Arena. The ceremony was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and leaders of many other countries. 

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov welcomed athletes and guests of the fest and emphasized that the Games are intended to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the nomadic peoples of Eurasia. He also proclaimed that the VII World Nomad Games will be held in Tatarstan in 2028. 

The World Nomadic Games which are international competitions in national and ethnic kinds of sports, inscribed into the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List, will be held in Kyrgyzstan from 31 August till 6 September, with competitions in traditional kinds of sport and national games to be held in Cholpon-Ata and the Kyrchyn region.
