Address from Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan

On 30 August in his address on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated residents of the republic with the holiday and wrote: “ In its modern history Tatarstan has established itself as a leading region across many social and economic indicators and in terms of quality of life, rightfully has become the backbone region of the country and today continues making a substantial contribution into the development of the state, ensuring defense capability, technological leadership and might of Russia.

In the Year of Unity of People proclaimed by our President Vladimir Putin we note with particular pride that Tatarstan is a place where representatives of 175 ethnicities live in the atmosphere of friendship and concord. We will continue to make every effort to preserve and develop cultures, traditions and languages of ethnicities of the republic, to restore cultural heritage sites and shrines.

I would like to emphasize that the main treasure and force of the republic are people: today there are more than four million people living in Tatarstan. Their creative work, talents and energy have always served as a foundation for high results and consistent movement ahead. 

On August 30, as we honor the republic, we primarily honor our people – our respected veterans, pioneer builders, representatives of labour dynasties and honorees of ”The Electronic Roll of Honor” , representing every filed of endeavor as well as those who ensure peace on our native soil – our defenders. 

Today thousands of residents of Tatarstan courageously defend Motherland at the special military operation and we are proud of them and believe in Victory! As a mark of respect for all generations of defenders of Fatherland and home front workers, events have been organized across the republic as part of the Year of Military and Labor Valor.

Using this chance I would like to thank all residents of Tatarstan for unity in face of external challenges and contribution into the development of the beloved republic.”

In conclusion the Rais of the republic once again congratulated all residents of Tatarstan with the holiday and wished them happiness and prosperity.
