Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food: The volume of agricultural produce for the first half of the current year has exceeded 127bn rubles

On 28 August, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported about industrial indicators of the agribusiness in the first six months and briefly informed about harvest progress in the republic.

He said that 727 thousand hectares of 66 per cent of the plan of crop cultures have been harvested with 2m 656 thousand tonnes of grain threshed with the average yield of 36.5 centners per hectare. Farmers have started gathering and processing beet root and sowing winter crops.

The regional Minister noted that the industrial indicators of agribusiness are mostly related to cattle-breeding and they are positive with the volume of agricultural produce of the current year having exceeded 127bn rubles for the first half of 2026.

He also informed that arrears of agribusiness enterprises have decreased by 107m rubles compared to last year and the dairy products exports have grown by 23 per cent. The work in accreditation of three dairy plants has been completed which will make it possible to deliver dairy products to CIS and EAEU countries as well as to the markets of the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Despite the disparity in milk prices, investment activity in the livestock sector remains steady with six dairy complexes with a total capacity of 5 000 heads commissioned this year. Another 12 projects with a combined capacity of 9 000 head will serve as growth drivers through the end of the year, Marat Zyabbarov said. The amount of investments in livestock breeding will make more than 7.5 bn rubles while the total amount of investment into agribusiness is estimated to be 15bn rubles, he concluded.
