Rustam Minnikhanov: Khimgrad Technopolis is our pride!

On August 28, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, first director of Khimgrad Albert Karimov and Aide to the Rais of Tatarstan and member of the Board of Directors of Khimgrad Ravil Muratov visited the Khimgrad Technopolis, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, where they looked around the production facilities of resident enterprises and got acquainted with its developments and output.

Director General of Khimgrad Company Ayrat Gizzatullin briefed the delegation on the history of the technopolis’s development and the attraction of its first residents, presented current performance results and outlined future plans.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan visited several resident companies, namely Inkomsystem research and production centre, where he got acquinted with the new production line for ABAK industrial controllers and the key stages of their manufacture—from printed circuit board assembly and soldering to final assembly and protective coating application. The company designs and manufactures equipment for process automation and for measuring liquid and gas flow.

Then, Minnikhanov visited the site of Eidos Robotics (part of the Robotics Corporation Group). There, he was shown robotic systems for welding, parts loading and laser scanning, built around the company’s own in-house robots, as well as solutions for warehouse automation.

At the exhibition, over 30 resident companies presented their developments and technologies: robotic systems, industrial equipment and components, medical implants and devices, protective coatings and measuring instruments, biotechnological innovations, specialized clothing and footwear, packaging products, as well as solutions for automation and the consumer market.

Afterwards, a solemn ceremony, marking the 20th anniversary of Khimgrad was held. Minnikhanov emphasized that in 2006, the Tasma plant was in a very difficult situation. It was then decided to give the area new life and establish an industrial park there. “Few believed in the success of this project, but I always believed in it. Today, Khimgrad is a major industrial hub. The aggregate revenue of resident companies reaches 130 billion rubles. Over 10,000 jobs have been created. The Khimgrad experience is in demand far beyond Tatarstan. Projects have been implemented in Uzbekistan, and work is currently under way in Azerbaijan. The technopolis has ambitious plans for the future. I thank everyone who took part in the implementation of this most important project: Marat Khusnullin, Albert Karimov, Ravil Muratov and many others who made a significant contribution to the creation and operation of the technopolis. Khimgrad is our pride!” the Rais of the republic emphasized.

Minnikhanov handed in a number of state awards to employees of the technopolis and representatives of resident enterprises who have made a significant contribution to the development of Khimgrad and the industrial potential of the republic.
