Rais of Tatarstan meets Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE

On 25 August in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei who came to take part in the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Forum to be held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center on 26 August.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of the UAE for their attention to the republic and fostering close partnership bonds. “Under difficult geopolitical situation when regions are facing many challenges, our cooperation is taking on particular relevance and is of great importance for the sustainable development of our countries,” he said.

The Rais of the republic emphasized that at its level Tatarstan actively contributes to strengthening Russia-Emirates relations by exchanging delegations, having the representative office of the republic in Dubai and having direct flights to the UAE cities.  The republic particularly values an opportunity to exchange experience in the fields of Islamic banking, Halal industry and Muslim education.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Tatarstan-UAE trade turnover has demonstrated a substantial growth during the first three months of the current year and that the republic has a wide range of products it is ready to deliver to the United Arab Emirates.

He emphasized that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia and a large oil producing region having produced 34.5m tonnes of oil last year. 

Rustam Minnikhanov proposed more actively developing ties between Tatarstan and the UAE in the spheres of energy and oil chemistry, industrial and civil electronics and microelectronics and workforce training for these sectors. “Friendly relations between Presidents of our countries foster the development of our cooperation with the UAE,” he concluded.

In his turn Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei thanked for the given welcome and passed warm words of welcome and best wishes from the President of the UAE. “We congratulate you with 80th anniversary of the beginning of oil production in the republic. Tatarstan possesses reach experience and advanced technological solutions in this spheres. Thank you for the invitation to take part in the Oil and Gas Forum. We are interested in further strengthening our cooperation and increasing the volume of mutual trade,” the Emirati Minister said.
