Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates residents of Tatarstan on the State Flag Day

On 22 August, speaking at a meeting held in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated residents of the republic on the State Flag Day celebrated today.

“This holiday gains special meaning in the Year of Unity of Peoples of Russia. The State flag of Russia unites millions of citizens living in our country and beyond its borders and is the proof of our unity and solidarity. It is our duty to hold state symbols in sacred reverence, to cherish them and to remain loyal to the Fatherland,” he emphasized.

As topical events will be traditionally held in the republic today, the Rais of the republic gave an errand to heads of municipalities to provide assistance in organizing them and to ensure necessary safety measures.
